TV meteorologist Nelson recognized

Fixture on Denver TV has for decades slipped in references to the changing climate

Long-time TV meteorologist Mike Nelson was honored Thursday evening by New Energy Colorado with a plaque recognizing his 40 years of service in communicating climate change. With the microphone is New Energy’s Rebecca Cantwell and also John Avenson. In 2016, Avenson was finally convinced that he had figured out energy sufficiently at his passive-solar house in Westminster that he could order a stub on his natural gas line. Xcel Energy charged him $800 to do so.
