Big Pivots surpassed our November-December 2023 goal. This surely can be read as a vote of confidence by our readers!
Big Pivots had a successful fundraising effort during November and December. We hit our first target of $10,000 then, when the national matching grant was elevated to $15,000, hit that target, too.
Zounds! That’s a vote of confidence!
Assuming we have crossed our t’s and so forth, we will get a $15,000 check in the mail later this year.
For 2023, total revenue for Big Pivots was $42,672. If we are careful with our money, that will allow Big Pivots to do some good in Colorado and beyond. We want to think you donors:

And not least…
Those who take time occasionally to talk to me about the stories I’m doing or should be doing, and those of you who have passed along material from Big Pivots to others.
— Allen Best, founder and chairman of the board for Big Pivots, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Why support Big Pivots?
You need and value solid climate change reporting, and also the energy & water transitions in Colorado. Because you know that strong research underlies solid journalism, and research times take.
Plus, you want to help small media, and Big Pivots is a 501(c)3 non-profit.
Big grants would be great, but they’re rare for small media. To survive, Big Pivots needs your support. Think about how big pivots occur. They start at the grassroots. That’s why you should support Big Pivots. Because Big Pivots has influence in Colorado, and Colorado matters in the national conversation.
